Brayden's STARband

Hi guys,
I wanted to let you know that you have done a great job on the website! I can relate 100%! The only downfall was that my son went through 3 CRO's. He kept getting angry, raw, oozing red spots on his pressure points. They ordered a new one, thinking the original had been cut too much too soon. The second did the same. They finally realized that my son was allergic to the foam, and ordered the third one which we had no problems with! The picture I'm attaching was taken April of 2009. My son's name is Brayden, and he was about 9 months. We were camping, and took the boat out. Brayden LOVED being on the boat! Kids with CRO's can still have the same fun; there's nothing "wrong with them", as many people think, and are sometimes rude enough to ask! Oh! We are from Texas!
Thanks,
Rebecca

  1. Rebecca,

Thanks! We really appreciate your picture of Brayden. He is very cute. Your feedback is great. Sometimes all of this is a bit overwhelming, but like you we get through it. Our Alexandra is at the tail end of her CRO run, with probably only a month or so yet. The correction has been amazing.

How did your CRO work out? Was it a STARband? Please keep us up to date with his progress. If anyone you know has questions or needs assistance with any of these conditions please keep our website in mind.

    Thanks,

    Gary, Valerie and Alexandra

  2. Hey Everyone,

As I said in the previous email, he had problems with his first 2 STARbands, come to find out he was one of the rare ones that was allergic to the foam! The third one was great and we had no problems with it. Brayden completed treatment on September 4, 2009. His beginning diagonal was at a 25, and when he completed treatment, he was at an 8. Not perfect, but a huge improvement from the beginning! I do wish that we would have continued a bit longer, but his neurosurgeon said that it wouldn't be very effective to continue wearing the CRO. Come to find out, a member of your yahoo groups informed me that I was misinformed, and that while it wouldn't have made a signficant difference, it would have helped a little bit longer. I just wish someone had pages, groups and information like your family has done. Knowledge is power! Keep up the great work and keep us posted on your beautiful daughter!

    Rebecca
